Surgical sutures produced within Class 100, Class 1000 and Class 10000 cleanrooms. Nine products across absorbable and non-absorbable lines, manufactured by SKY Biotechnology since 1983.

Overview

Serving the medical industry since 1983, SKY Biotechnology produces surgical sutures within Class 100, Class 1000 and Class 10000 areas. Our sutures have been used confidently by more than 1,000 private and state hospitals for over 20 years, and are supplied to leading university, state and private hospitals as well as exported to many countries including European markets. The range covers four non-absorbable and five absorbable products.

Product Line

Four non-absorbable and five absorbable products.

Non-absorbable4 products

Polypropylene and polyamide monofilaments, braided natural silk and braided polyester. Permanent tensile strength, except silk which reduces over time. USP 11/0 to 5 depending on product.

Absorbable5 products

Polyglycolic acid, polyglycolide-co-L-lactide (standard and rapid), polyglycolide-co-caprolactone and polydioxanone. Tissue support from 14 to 60 days; absorption from 40 to 210 days.

Cleanroom productionClass 100–10000

Manufactured within Class 100, Class 1000 and Class 10000 areas. Ethylene oxide sterilisation across the range; gamma also available for the rapid absorbable product.

Absorbable coatings: polyglycolide-co-L-lactide & calcium stearate (a polycaprolactone & calcium stearate coated PGA type is also available). Refer to the Instructions for Use for the full intended purpose, contraindications and warnings.
