Intraocular Implant Gel

SkyVisc Ophthalmic — sterile, single-use ophthalmic viscoelastic devices for cataract and anterior segment surgery. Eight grades, cohesive to dispersive, developed and manufactured by SKY Biotechnology.

Overview

Ophthalmic viscoelastic devices maintain space and protect delicate tissues during cataract and intraocular lens surgery. SkyVisc Ophthalmic spans eight grades built on sodium hyaluronate in phosphate saline buffer, obtained by biofermentation — six cohesive grades from 1.0% to 2.0%, a 3.0% high-cohesive grade, and a 3.0% dispersive grade at lower molecular weight. All grades are stored without a cold chain.

Product Line

Eight grades — six cohesive, one high cohesive, one dispersive.

Cohesive1.0% – 2.0%

High molecular weight sodium hyaluronate at 3,200,000 Da. Maintains anterior chamber depth during IOL implantation and is removed cleanly at the end of the procedure. Six concentrations from 10 to 20 mg/mL.

High cohesive3.0%

The most viscous grade at 1,800,000 mPas and 3,200,000 Da. Maximum chamber stability for demanding anterior segment work.

Dispersive3.0%

Lower molecular weight at 800,000 Da and 50,000 mPas. Coats and protects the corneal endothelium and stays in place during phacoemulsification.

Technical Highlights

No cold chain requiredStored at +2 °C to +25 °C with a 36-month shelf life — no refrigerated transport or storage, which simplifies distribution in warm-climate markets.
Cohesive to dispersive in one rangeSix cohesive grades, a high-cohesive 3.0% and a dispersive 3.0% — a single supplier covers chamber maintenance and endothelial coating.
Viscosity from 50,000 to 1,800,000 mPasThe widest step in the range is deliberate: the dispersive grade sits at 50,000 mPas for coating, the high-cohesive at 1,800,000 mPas for space maintenance.
In-house manufacturingSodium hyaluronate obtained by biofermentation. Developed and produced by SKY Biotechnology at our own facility under an ISO 13485 certified quality management system.
